A Roof Over Every Head

The issue of housing in Saskatoon is incredibly important. As your representative, I promise to create a community where everyone can thrive. I will prioritize affordable housing, ensuring all residents have access to safe and affordable living spaces.

Since June, I have been consulting with Ward 6 residents about the issue of homelessness. There is little doubt that the number of unhoused people on the streets is reaching an unprecedented level. It is a highly complex issue - many unhoused individuals are also dealing with significant life challenges, including mental illnesses and in some instances, substance addictions.

Let me be clear about this challenge: Solutions lie beyond the City of Saskatoon. As the next Councillor for Ward 6, I promise to make this challenge a top priority during my term. I will call on all levels of government, including the province of Saskatchewan and the federal government, to come to the table and work with the city in good faith to take needed measures to combat this crisis.

I also promise to work directly with grassroots organizations in the city that have the knowledge and ability to help develop meaningful solutions.

Affordable housing and homelessness affect us all. The City of Saskatoon must take all necessary measures immediately to ensure the well-being of people and the future prosperity and livability of the city as a whole.
